Like many others, I changed my degree plan from Computer Science (remember the Apple IIe?) to exercise physiology. At that time my goal for changing my degree was not to help others, but to learn what I could do to improve myself -– I did.
In 1996 I was ranked number 1 in my age group in the South-Midwest, and number 5 nationally in short course duathlons. A duathlon is an event comprised of running and biking.
In 1994 I left for Lubbock, TX to attend Texas Tech University in pursuit of a BS in Exercise Physiology. I received my Exercise & Sports Science degree in 1997.
In 1998 I moved to Albuquerque, NM and instantly fell in love with the place. Not knowing what I wanted from life I ended up as a Bioenvironmental Engineering Technician in the U.S. Air Force. The military offered me the potential to work with and train some great people.
Four years in the military also made it very clear to me that the only job that I could do and was good at was exercise physiology and helping others discover the physical potential they hold.
After my military stint ended on 23 Mar 2003, I moved back to Albuquerque, NM for the awesome weather
and the incredible outdoor venue it offers for playing and training.
I am currently working as a cardiac rehab exercise physiologist at the University of New Mexico Hospital.
